Narberth Borough Assistant Manager Job Opening

Narberth Borough, Montgomery County is currently seeking applications for the position of Assistant Manager.  The Borough is located on the Philadelphia Main Line and surrounded by Lower Merion Township. The Borough has a population of 4,492 with approximately 0.50 square miles and a police budget of approximately $1.9 million. Staffing includes 3 FTEs in Administration, 5FTEs in Public Works, 4 FTEs in Fire, and 8 FTEs in Police.  The position is responsible for supporting the Borough Manager in advancing the goals of Borough Council to better the lives of Borough residents as well as to lead the Borough in the absence of the Manager.   

The job duties can accommodate a variety of interests, backgrounds and skill sets, but education and experience showcasing competence and interest in municipal management is required.  Participation in meetings and community events outside of Borough office hours (8am to 4pm M-F with one hour lunch) will be expected.

The salary range is $95,000 to $115,000 with a benefit package including but not limited to a defined benefit pension, health insurance (with the Borough paying 95% of the cost), $1,000 HRA, and life insurance (100% of the cost paid by the Borough).  Career development and support, including membership in organizations such as ICMA, training/webinars, is supported, encouraged, and paid for by the Borough.

Proof of vaccination for Covid-19 is required unless otherwise provided under local, state, or federal law.  Must also not use tobacco or nicotine products.
