Message from the Chief of Police

Recently, incidents of auto theft and theft from auto have been reported to the Narberth Police Department.  Please take the following precautions:

Preventing Auto Theft

  • Lock all doors when vehicle is unattended
  • Roll up all vehicle windows leaving no gaps
  • Do not store vehicle keys in vehicle
  • Park in well-lit areas during nighttime hours
  • Install/use anti-theft devices, e.g. audible alarm system, engine disabling system, steering wheel lock, after-market tracking (LoJack)

Preventing Theft From Auto

  • Lock all doors when vehicle is unattended
  • Roll up all vehicle windows leaving no gaps
  • Park in well-lit areas during nighttime hours
  • Do not leave valuable items, e.g. laptops, cell phones, etc., visible in vehicle interior
  • Do not leave cash or change visible in console cups/compartments
  • Install an audible alarm system

Dial 9-1-1 immediately to report crimes in progress or suspicious activity.  Remember, it is our responsibility as a community to target harden our vehicles to prevent property crime.  Please feel free to share this information with family members, friends and neighbors.
