How do I use this resource to understand local laws?

An ordinance is an amendment, deletion, and/or an addition to the body of laws that are in effect in the Borough of Narberth. Borough Council approves ordinances by majority vote and they are enacted with the approving signature of the Mayor. The Mayor has the option to veto any ordinance at which time a super-majority (5 out of 7) members of Council would have to vote to approve the ordinance for it to be enacted at the next meeting.

The record of adopted ordinances incrementally changes the overall body of laws in effect in Narberth. Codification is the process where the ordinances are indexed and inserted into the body of laws – in their right place with appropriate additions and deletions.
