Narberth Avenue Bridge Replacement
Q. What is the status of this project?

Project Status Highlights:
- The Borough Engineer (Pennoni) has assigned Senior Vice President James Markman to the project to ensure deliverables are completed timely.
- The Borough has completed hiring a construction inspector, and will be working with Anthony Dougherty from Traffic Planning and Design.
- Working with its architect, Council has decided on the art for the bridge, which has been incorporated into its design plans.
- All necessary rights of way and easements have been obtained.
- Funding for the project has been allocated in PennDOT’s Transportation Improvement Plan and the Borough has secured the 5% of the costs it is required to pay.
Council stressed the importance of completing the project in a timely manner on behalf of residents. We will be in contact with the Engineer to provide detailed information to the public and Council on a regular basis. The Engineer will be back with Council again sometime this summer. Details will be posted as they become available.
Q. Will the bridge be closed to vehicular traffic during the demo/construction?
A. Yes. Pedestrian access over the bridge will be provided through the duration of the construction phase of the project.
Q. How long will the bridge be closed to traffic?
A. At this time, the project is anticipated to last between 18-24 months.
Q. Will detailed plan sets of the bridge be available to review?
A. Yes. As soon as plan sets are finalized and approved by the project engineer, Borough, and PennDOT, they will be posted below.
