Narberth Chief of Police and Director of Public Safety Job Advertisement

Narberth Borough, Montgomery County is currently seeking applications for the newly created position of Chief of Police and Director of Public Safety.  The Borough is located on the Philadelphia Main Line and surrounded by Lower Merion Township. The Borough has a population of 4,492 with 9.31 square miles and a police budget of approximately $1.9 million. The position manages a department of 5 FT sworn officers and 4 PT civilian employees.  The position is responsible for creating and implementing a vision that integrates the principles of community policing into a progressive law enforcement program and addressing the public health and safety needs of Narberth. The successful candidate must be community-focused and have the leadership, management, and interpersonal skills to maintain and advance the department’s standing as a progressive, professional, and innovative police agency.  


Applicants should demonstrate supervisory and leadership abilities in submission. Prior management experience preferred.  A Bachelor’s Degree is required, Master’s Degree desirable.  The candidate must be certified by MPOETC and possess a current Act 120 certification or be capable of becoming certified. The salary range is $100,000-$120,000 with an excellent benefit package; exact salary will depend on qualifications/experience. Deadline for applications is noon on January 6, 2023.
