Press Release – 109 N Narberth Ave

On Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 1:06 pm, a Narberth business owner came to the police station to report that someone had spray painted the side of their business. After taking the report at the station, the officer responded to the business and found graffiti in an alleyway adjacent to 109 N. Narberth Avenue. The graffiti, “Free Gaza,” was spray painted on the brick wall within the alleyway. Photos were taken documenting the scene, and an immediate investigation began.

On Friday, March 15, 2024, the police department was following up on the investigation and found that the owner of the building was unable to remove the spray paint. To help facilitate the most expeditious removal, Narberth Borough Public Works assisted the building owner by removing the spray paint.

An investigation is being conducted to attempt to identify the person(s) responsible for these acts. Anyone with information is asked to email Sgt. Michael Vernacchio at mvernacchio@narberthpa.gov.

Due to the nature of the message, “Free Gaza,” and the immediate proximity of two Jewish-owned businesses, we have contacted the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and are seeking support from anyone with additional information.

Narberth Borough prides itself on the support of one another, and through the support of our community, we will conduct a complete investigation to identify the subject(s) responsible for this action.
